Welcome to the Grassroots Priorities display of the current 89th Legislative Session.

If you're a conservative Republican, then you are the opposite of a liberal Democrat. Your greatest disagreements in your vote record would be with Democrats, not Republicans.

But that's not true of all of our Texas Republicans.

If you look at Texas House districts held by Republicans, with the exception of Speaker Burrows, you will see those districts in red below.

But if you then color in dark blue those Republican districts where the Republican agrees with Democrats on Democrat bills more than the Democrat Terry Canales, this is what you see.

Why would any Republican agree more with Democrats on Democrat bills than a Democrat does? And why do so many of our House Republicans do that? Isn't that a betrayal of our conservative beliefs?
